Libelula Cafe & Grill
865 Kearny Ave, Kearny, NJ
Crema's Take
“Libelula Cafe & Grill is a warm, owner-run spot where the hospitality extends far beyond the menu—they've been known to whip up off-hours chicken soup for sick customers and orchestrate flawless celebrations, from nursing pinnings to intimate gatherings. The kitchen delivers solid traditional fare with Latin touches like tostones rellenos and maduros, while the space itself welcomes everyone from solo coffee sippers to large family groups with genuine care and attentiveness. This is the kind of neighborhood cafe where Alberto and his wife remember you, make you feel like family, and somehow manage to be simultaneously relaxed and impeccably hospitable.”

I love this place … my husband was sick and we desperately wanted a chicken soup I called this place at 10pm and they made the soup for me give no problem… but on top of that the owner was great when I got there and greeted and handed me the soup with the most kind smile !! 💕💕🩷🩷 if I can give this place 1000000% I’ll. Food is awesome 😎
Recently celebrated an event here, and from start to finish it was such a great experience! The owner & his wife were very kind, super helpful, but most important was understanding when I had explained what I was looking for! He was also very attentive during my event, couldn’t have chosen a better place, will definitely book another event in the future and recommend to friends and family
Celebrated my Nursing pinning here. Amazing service! Alberto and his team made sure this was a seamless planning. On the day of they were very on top of all the guests making sure we were all ok. The food was talked about all night because it was DELICIOUS. The Pernil was YUMMY! Just an amazing all around good time. We ended the night with Karaoke, it was perfect. I recommend using them for your next event. I’m definitely booking again!
We went here around 3pm on a Friday whole space to ourselves. Waitress was patient with us, a group of 5. We got the Tostones Rellenos with chicken and maduros with cheese, both delicious but i didn’t take a picture. We then got cheeseburger, chicken quesadilla, wings, rice with grilled chicken , another rice with beans and wings, and a cheesesteak and arepa. The bill wasnt that bad for everything we ordered! The food was good. The service was good. I believe its byob and karaoke Friday nights!
We have visited several times with large parties. The staff is amazing! All are kind, professional, accommodating, and efficient. All dishes, including apps, dinner, and dessert have always been fantastic. They use the freshest ingredients and make sure all dishes are done the right way and are beautifully presented. This restaurant exceeds our expectations! The menu offers a wide variety of options, including for children. We visited on a Sunday to celebrate my niece’s first communion and didn’t realize we stayed past closing time. The staff kept telling us not to worry about it and did not pressure us to leave at all, which we all thought was so kind of them all. They helped us set up a cake table for the communion celebration. You can tell the restaurant really cares about its guests. The service is always impeccable from start to finish. We look forward to visiting again soon due to the excellent service and delicious food.
