Kearny Deli Cafe & Restaurant

So, I am a paying customer who’s come into this shop fairly regularly for nearly a year… who has sat here in the past on my laptop after making a purchase, doing my work, a few times. I won’t be returning after today. Today, a big group of men came in and decided to sit outside bc there wasn’t enough room for all of them after lumping the furniture and all of a sudden, after I was alone because they’d went outside, the ‘dad’ came from the back and yelled at me, saying ‘please! I’m losing customers’ and I thought to myself, ‘yes, that’s true. You will lose customers but not the ones you think you’ll lose.’ I highly doubt he would have yelled at any man in the way he yelled at me. It was disturbing, and I honestly don’t really want to eat here after interacting with him based upon his energy alone. The guys just went outside because it was a big group, and there was no reason whatsoever to come to the table where I was sitting and an explosion of verbal diarrhea like he did. Also— It is noteworthy to add that I’ve come and made purchases here several times, having coffee, salads, bagels, ect and have never caused any issue, I am ALWAYS polite and pay and tip, but the food is MID on a good day, the cheesecake is GROSS like it’s made with low quality ingredients and/or possibly has gone bad and the coffee tastes totally offensive (worst than McDonald’s and gas station cofffee) unless it’s doused with creamers and sugar. The main reason I came in so much before and proximity to my home so convenience .. annd before ? Atmosphere which was MID but this atmosphere is no longer is it in any way shape or form at all acceptable. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for a social environment that isn’t suddenly hostile for literally no reason. Honestly, I wish I had better things to say because it’s a virtue to be polite. That’s the only way the world slightly works.. but I expect so much better than this. I worked at a cafe years ago and this would not have happened there because I am truly a nice person who again, has not caused anyone to lose customers.. ever.. and so, from now on, i am going to just go to Starbucks which is three minutes away. I miss their sausage egg wraps with sciracha anyway.

We order from here every weekend, and their Taylor ham, egg, and cheese is absolutely amazing every single time! The quality is always consistent, fresh, and delicious. They also offer delivery, which makes it super convenient. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Highly recommend this place!

Absolute gem of a restaurant, not to be overlooked. Cozy atmosphere, quick service and reasonable prices. The staff was very friendly. The whole wheat bagel with ham, egg and cream cheese was DELICIOUS. They do not skimp on their offerings. Perfect ratio of protein to carbs and the bagel itself tasted fresh and wholesome. Definitely recommend!

food was good and fresh and customer service was top tier oh yes and the place was squeaky clean

The staff is so nice and helpful! The Italian sub and macaroni salad was delicious. It was nice to sit outside on their patio to enjoy it and a wonderful bonus that they offer parking
