Crema's Take

Dog River Coffee is a refreshingly unpretentious spot in downtown Hood River where the vibe is genuinely relaxed and the owner's warmth sets the tone for the whole experience. They keep things focused with Coava espresso done right and a modest but thoughtful selection of pastries and light bites—think properly textured biscuits and exceptional bagels rather than an overwhelming case. Plenty of space, solid wifi, and a dog-friendly atmosphere make it equally suited for lingering solo or gathering with friends, all without the polished stuffiness that sometimes comes with specialty coffee.

Nice place to visit with others. The coffee is good but not a large snack selection.

Nice coffee shop. Clean and tidy. Short-ish eats case, though the biscuits aren't triple baked, with projectile crumbs when you bite it... great texture and just what I like a biscuits to be. The wife had a Cardamom bun, more like an upright monster contorni. A fairly large space, meant for lots of smaller groups or individuals. A major bonus, when the Barrista yells out, louder than for an order, "Mr. MeterMan is out. Pay your parking meters!!" foravpiding tickets w/ remote meter payments.

A little piece of heaven in downtown Hood River, where smiles and greetings are easy, Coava coffee served just right and the bagel was exceptionally good! Stayed for a few extra moments to soak it in the morning!

This place was a lot better than expected. I was skeptical before going in as it looked kind of rundown from the outside and even when going to the website you can't even pull up a menu. Fortunately I went in and saw that this place is actually really cool with the nice layout and friendly service. I had a caramel latte that was good along with bacon and egg quiche and strawberry gluten free muffin. Both of those were tasty. They didn't have a condiment area with sleeves, sugar, stir sticks, etc. Bottom line, freshen up the outside, get a good online website and have a condiment station and you'll be great!!

I love this place. Good coffee. The owner is awesome, makes the experience fun. Inside there's a lot of space and the decor is cool. Feels so relaxed and not stuffy. Free, very fast wifi.
