Crema's Take
“Paperboy South is an Austin brunch destination that elevates breakfast to an art form, with rotating seasonal menus that deliver elevated flavors like pulled pork with pecan mole and savory Texas Hash that consistently surprise regulars. The intimate booth-lined dining room (plus bar seating) creates an inviting neighborhood feel, and the notably attentive staff make you feel genuinely welcomed whether you're squeezing in on a Saturday morning or booking a reservation weeks ahead. This is the kind of place where first-timers often become devoted repeat customers, drawn back by the unwavering quality and creativity that keeps the menu feeling fresh.”

First time at Paperboy and I liked it but didn’t love. I booked a brunch reservation a week out and sat in one of the two-person booths. I do like how the inside is all booths except for the bar. Service was OK but food did come fast. Would definitely return to try more of the menu though!
Awesome spot! Came in on Saturday morning and waited maybe 5 mins and sat at the bar. Service was prompt and the host and servers were attentive and friendly. I ordered the Texas Hash which was savory and sweet and the Paperboy Pancake which was super buttery and soft. It’s like an inch thick and the flavors are great! I was also able to order a coffee while waiting which was great because it was 30° cold 🥶. They had heater lamps outside too which kept me warm. I did street parking which was free but I saw that they do 1 hour free garage parking which could work for some people. Overall, great spot for breakfast & brunch 🔥. Will be coming back.
Run, don’t walk to Paperboy. I can’t rave enough about the meal I just had. A truly elevated brunch experience that blew my expectations out of the water. One would have high expectations for the chicken and biscuit — and believe me it did not disappoint — but the ricotta toast and the kale salad were both 5 Star worthy dishes and easily could have been after thoughts. Not to be outdone, the drinks held their own candle on the meal. Excellent coffee, the toasted cinnamon horchata w/ espresso shot was delightful, but the earl grey cold brew was on another level. To top it all off, the service was excellent. Our server recommended several dishes to us, all excellent, and then came by to check on us several times throughout the meal. We were there past closing and at no point did we feel rushed or pressured to leave. It was truly a great dining experience.
The absolute best breakfast in Austin, nothing compares. The best service from Jen and Jessie. (And the rest of the awesome staff) The food is always amazing no matter what they have on the rotating menu and I make sure to bring everyone from out of town here. If you’re coming from out of town or only have a few days here paperboy is a must stop. I’d recommend getting a little Remi, a steak and eggs and the mascarpone toast, but to be frank I have had almost the entire menu and nothing will let you down. Just trust me and come here, it’s worth the drive.
Highest quality food I’ve ever had in a restaurant (I’m 61). Nothing was ordinary. Everything was special in some way. The pulled pork with sweet potato and pecan mole was amazingly flavorful. Cheddar hashbrown was great. Cinnamon toast was great. The pancakes need a new name because they’re not like any pancake I’ve ever had. Everything was amazing.
