The Market
1001 Wisconsin Pl, Madison, WI
Crema's Take
“Tucked into Madison's central location, this neighborhood market shines with its made-to-order hot food bar and fresh salad station that keep regulars coming back weekly—though the produce selection can be inconsistent, the staff genuinely cares, with managers quick to refresh items when asked. It's the kind of convenient, family-friendly spot where campus students and locals alike appreciate the fair prices, diverse snack selection, and the genuine warmth of the checkout experience, even if inventory surprises sometimes mean your favorite items might be gone.”

Great place to shop and convenient location. Often out product, last time I was there they were out of dill (fresh and dried), lemons (fresh), and garlic
Really convenient if you are on campus. Fantastic hot food bar. Delicious salads. $8.99 a lb. We will be there weekly to stock our fridge. Decent selection of produce, especially unique stuff. This is a family owned business doing something unique and special to the community You won't be disappointed.
Came with my daughter because she wanted fresh salad bar. The quality of the lettuce was sketch but when I asked if they would refresh the lettuce a manager brought her out a brand new catch right away. Lots of great topping options. Only complaint was the price. $25 for two salads is a bit nuts. I know it's centrally located for the campus and wasn't expecting it to be cheap or anything that just seems like allot of salad.
So happy to have this store open! I have been to the Sun Prairie location, and this (in the empty spot of the old Whole Foods) is a great addition to the central part of Madison. While it does headline 'International Foods' there are also many domestic brands, and produce. I think it might also have the best Gluten Free selection of food in town I have seen as well. The staff at checkout mentioned that hot foods like gyros will be coming soon too.
Best grocery store on campus! There are so many selection of food items and snacks! Compared to other grocery stores around campus the prices are fair considering the location. The cashiers are very good at what they do! Extremely helpful and I appreciate that they make eye contact and engage with customers. I have not tried the buffet but the price is $9.99 per lb which is fair (lots of grocery stores are within the range of $8-10 per pound). The items sold are ideal for weekly grocery shoppers as there aren’t much bulk purchase options.
