POD Organic Market
2100 W End Ave, Nashville, TN
Crema's Take
“POD Organic Market is a neighborhood institution that has gracefully evolved from a simple produce stand into a full-fledged community gathering spot, where you can grab their house-made preserves, locally baked breads, and surprisingly excellent boiled peanuts alongside organic staples. The space welcomes you whether you're rushing in for a quick coffee and pastry or settling in for a slow morning, with genuinely attentive staff who've clearly built real relationships with regulars over decades. There's a refreshing authenticity here—bulk sections, a water-filling station, fresh flowers, and an curated selection of local products that feel like they were actually chosen by people who care, not algorithms.”

Great shop that goes beyond produce. They have fantastic Produce Place branded preserves and salad dressing in addition to locally baked breads! Very friendly staff.
I hate to be writing this. My family of six has been shopping at The Produce Place for over 30 years — it’s always been a beloved neighborhood staple and part of our weekly routine. But the store’s extreme price markups have finally driven us away. The tipping point came when I saw Organic Valley butter — four sticks — priced at $17.59, nearly double what it costs at Kroger ($9.99). Kerrygold butter was marked at $10.29 for just two sticks — compared to $5.49 elsewhere. These prices aren’t minor differences; they’re blatant overcharges. This isn’t new, either. Over the past few years, we’ve noticed steady price hikes — a dollar or two here and there. Last year, the JD Country Milk we’ve bought for decades was suddenly priced $4 higher than at Whole Foods. When we brought it up to the owner, her response was dismissive — essentially, “tough luck.” Still, we remained loyal customers, shopping there four to five times a week. But when I saw a single leek for $6.99, it became clear that something’s seriously wrong. Whether they’re buying at retail cost or simply gouging loyal shoppers, it’s unacceptable — and it’s driven us, after three decades, to finally take our business elsewhere. Rising costs are unfortunate. Tariffs are unfortunate. But your doors will not stay open if you continue to treat customers this way and price gouge.
I grew up in the neighborhood so we have been coming here since day one. It’s been wonderful watching this store expand and become something more than a produce market. The staff is attentive and kind. I’m always impressed by the fact that people travel from other parts of the city to shop at this market. The prices are a little higher, but the convenience and quality are well worth it.
Great produce & organic foods and baked good finds that you can't find in grocery stores. And LOVE THE BOILED PEANUTS!!! SO GOOD. Look at the beautiful flowers I got last week. I was tickled pink.
Health food store with some Local, Seasonal Produce and products ! Local Honey, baked goods, water dispensing station for filling drinking water jugs, bulk section for nuts, grains, herbs etc. What the store needs is a consistent composting system for unsold food, thank you!
