Top Cup Coffee House
7115 S Val Vista Dr, Gilbert, AZ
Crema's Take
“Top Cup Coffee House in Gilbert is a spacious, welcoming spot that nails the ambiance for lingering over coffee and pastries, though their drinks can be inconsistent—espresso lands well for some visitors while others find the specialty beverages underwhelming. The friendly staff and inviting interior make it genuinely appealing for meetings or solo work sessions, but you might want to stick with their traditional espresso drinks and treat selections rather than expecting their specialty creations to always deliver.”

This is such a nice place to have coffee and a treat! We enjoy each and every visit. Their espresso is very good, and the dessert items I have had from there are tasty. My wife wasn't too crazy about the chocolate chip cookie we got from there today, but my daughter liked it. If they can get my wife to like their cookies, I will give 5 stars for food.
Clean and presentable interior, if a little sparse. Service was good, person that took our order was polite. We ordered a pastry and two iced lattes and paid $17. The lattes were honestly terrible. Tasted like they poured day old burnt coffee over milk. Couldn't even finish it. The pastry was no different than one you get at a gas station. I did like that the straws were in the shapes of hearts (it is around Valentine's Day currently). And I liked that they had a wide variety of sizes for drinks (all the way up to 32 oz). Just couldn't get over the fact that the coffee was terrible. Personally was not a fan of the country music playing, but that is purely a personal opinion. Didn't weigh that in my rating.
I hit up the coffee shops all over the country and do a ton of reviews on them. Top cup in Gilbert Arizona had a really nice interior and very friendly staff. The outside Seating area is average at best. I thought My breve latte Was a bit watered down. I had been to this location a long time ago, but wanted to give it a second chance. It’s not a bad place, It’s just not my style of coffee.
The inside is very spacious and has a welcoming environment. For the drink, I chose the Butterfly Tea since they recommends it plus it also caught my eye. After drinking it, it just tastes like water with lavender and lime syrup. I don’t drink tea often so I’m not sure if this is what iced tea is supposed to look like, but it’s average. Probably 3/5. But the price was very cheap for this drink, $2.50. Even though the overall rating for this place is 4/5, I would say 3.5/5 would be more accurate.
I prefer to support smaller companies than big chains, but on this one you're better off going to Starbucks. Croissant sandwich did not taste good at all. The salsa was just vinegar and like tomato sauce. More than likely from can. When I ordered they did not ask for a name or provide a number. As order start coming out they did not know who it belonged to or where to take it. Therefore they went in set my food on somebody else's stable. Very disorganized. Hopefully it's taken as constructive criticism and will make some changes. I'm still left with an appetite to eat something good.
