Crema's Take

This beloved 30-year neighborhood gem in the Mercado Shopping Plaza roasts its own beans and lets them shine through in meticulously crafted cappuccinos and pour overs that regulars rave about. The intimate patio and homey interior create the perfect refuge for lingering over coffee and locally-loved pastries like their spinach feta croissant, while baristas like Lisa bring a genuine warmth that keeps people coming back. Whether you're laptop-working, catching up with friends, or grabbing a breakfast burrito, Village Coffee Roastery feels less like a chain stop and more like your neighborhood's best-kept secret.

All praise warranted. Disco, naturally would be next door with a zipparita. Invention flash! Ginarrita! Tony and the barista came through with the Standard burrito. Yummy. Patio small but beautiful this time of year.

The Village Coffee Roastery on Hayden and Via de Ventura in Scottsdale is an absolute hidden gem! Tucked into the Mercado Shopping Plaza, this place has been around for about 30 years, and the current owner, Lisa, has lovingly run it for the last 20. They roast their own beans in house, craft their own pastries, and serve up an amazing breakfast menu. One highlight is their coffee rubbed short rib used in their breakfast burritos, which I’m definitely coming back to try! Open 364 days a year (only closed on the 4th of July), they offer a welcoming atmosphere, a dog friendly patio, and cozy indoor seating. The quality of their Ethiopian beans shines through. I had a quad shot breve, and the flavor was outstanding. The cronut was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and absolutely delicious. With Lisa’s warm hospitality and the incredible offerings, this is a spot we can’t wait to revisit!

Ms. Lisa made my day this morning by making my coffee lovingly with the foam flower in addition to her wonderful pastries which are adorable and I am a big fan of the spinach feta croissant, and cinnamon rolls. This is a Blessed neighborhood place! I am adding on May 13, 2025. Yesterday was Mother’s Day Holiday and Village Coffee regular Customer, The Honey Foundation extended its generosity to the guests of the coffee shop offering free coffee and gorgeous flowers to all Moms coming in all day long🌺❤️😇🌈💐 It was an amazing experience for everybody! God Bless the Generous and Loving people remaining same even during the challenging times🌹 I am adding on 05/23/2025 -as usually, Ms.Liza and her wonderful team enlightening the morning with her authentic coffee and a new creation of mini- cinnamon buns in a set of 3. My apologies, I got the last set and it appeared the person behind also wanted them, so I gladly shared one of mine sharing the joy of the morning as well. You may ask with/without frosting.
