Crema's Take

Drift Espresso pulls no punches with their seriously bold, full-bodied espresso that clearly has passionate fans in Bellingham—some swear it's the best coffee in town. Though the service and pastry quality seem inconsistent (raw croissants and forgotten orders have made appearances), the coffee itself and reasonable pricing keep people coming back, especially if you appreciate that dumb-strong, uncompromising espresso style.

Waited 5 minutes with no greeting until I was asked "what do you want" by an angry orange woman. $20.50 for two coffees and a microwaved frozen breakfast sandwich (which she forgot about and had to be reminded of) Also idk how you mess up an americano, but that's lowkey impressive. Go into Fred Meyers next door and get an energy drink instead

Coffee is dumb strong and has no flavor. The food is low quality. Pricing is similar to other stands but the quality is worse compared to other stands. The service itself wasn’t bad, but could be better. skip this jawn…

The best coffee in town! I tell everyone I know to go try Drift’s coffee because it is the best I have found in town. I’m an energy drink person so I am a little picky. They have so many flavors and can make almost anything I have ever asked for. And if you love matcha, they make it in house with ceremonial grade matcha. You can never go wrong with asking for a suprise drink either, every time I have it has always been delicious. The food is also delicious. They have some options that I havent seen at other stands before and I have liked everything I’ve tried from them!

First time coming here after the change from Giddy Up. I had a punch card. Asked if it was transferable. But, not because it was a totally new business with new owners. I was willing to give it a try. The menu looked appetizing. But, it didn’t have the prices posted. And, for a reason. They are not competitively priced and just expensive. When I pointed that out, the barista said “If you ask I will tell you.” I decided to test the waters with a 12 oz americano with cream. Turns out there’s an additional 75¢ charge for cream. Which the barista conveniently didn’t disclose as she made my drink. Oh yeah, and it’s an additional 35¢ for using a card. I decided to just pay cash. She says it’s $5.18 😲 I decided I buy the drink. But, never coming back. And, firmly said NO to giving my phone number to be part of their loyalty program. Which I’m a huge sucker for. But, not when businesses are a huge rip off. If I had paid with on credit, this 12 oz SINGLE shot americano with cream would be $5.56 without tip. I didn’t even get sugar. I wonder if that’s extra 🤔 Normally I would tip $1. In this case, those upticks in cost ate that up. And, honestly ticked me off. The drink was decent. But, not worth its beans. Especially when the coffee shop with the mermaid down the street charges the same drink 5¢ cheaper for an additional shot, open condiment bar, free refills when staying in lobby, free wi-fi, bathroom, and better loyalty program through app. The coffee stand on the other side of I-5 charges 30¢ less for a double shot americano, no charge for cream, and no charge on cards. I don’t know who these people think they are! It’s not like the coffee(Delano’s) they serve is ultra premium to demand the prices that they charge. I recommend that you just “drift past” this coffee stand because there are better options at either direction. If I had only looked at this menu from Google Maps beforehand, I wouldn’t have come here in the first place.

Prices are good! Coffee is good, better than a lot of places in bellingham. Got the croissant sandwich and somehow the croissant is raw? It was premade and reheated so im not sure how it happened but yeah.
