Crema's Take

Tucked beside a ballpark in Monterey, this nostalgic snack bar serves up remarkably juicy cheeseburgers with a house-made special sauce that punches way above its price point, drawing loyal regulars who swear by the soft bread and quality patties. The casual outdoor seating and family-friendly vibe make it a genuine neighborhood gem where you can grab an excellent burger and fries for around six dollars and actually feel like you got a steal.

I come here every now and then for the delicious and nostalgic cheeseburgers. Always juicy, and soft bread, with a great special sauce inside. Beats any fast food chain burger. Ask for peppers added for some kick!

This place came up in my search for a really great burger in Monterey, and it didn’t disappoint! Excellent price point, really good burger and fries. Husband and I got two cheeseburgers, a fry to share and two small drinks. This only set us back $18.00. Will definitely return (far better than the local Five Guys).

This little snack bar has the best burgers and a reasonable price. Located right next to a ballpark. Two cheeseburgers, one double cheeseburger two soda, and a Gatorade - $10/person (3 of us). Make a stop here. Plenty of outside seating.

I’ve wanted to come here for a long time, and it did not disappoint! The double cheeseburger is maybe the best I’ve had in Monterey, the service was great, and we got to watch an entertaining AA baseball game while we ate. I’ll be a regular here moving forward for sure.

Wow so surprised that the food was average 😳. First the price of a burger here is cheap 6 dollars. I got a double burger no cheese or bacon, I had to arrange the patties so both were visible for the picture. The meat is slightly better than Mc Donald's however the patties are the same size and are smaller than the bun. The fries were not edible for me, they were thin crunchy and over cooked, no other choices for starch with burger. I was really looking forward to eating here, the reviews are solid however the experience was underwhelming. Spend 4 dollars more and get a quality burger or eat here and enjoy the nostalgia. They haven't raised thier prices in 20 years so that's a plus. Bring your own chips and drinks and get a bag of cheap hot burgers.
