Exchange Co Coffee Bar & Bake Shop
110 S Main St, Simpsonville, SC
Crema's Take
“This Simpsonville gem combines a thriving plant-filled atmosphere with genuinely excellent coffee and food that even gluten-free diners rave about. The baristas clearly care about their craft—their vanilla lattes strike that perfect balance between milk and espresso, and their savory offerings like Daryl's chorizo bowl and bacon egg and cheese sandwiches have customers blown away by the quality. With upstairs seating, friendly staff, and that cozy-yet-spacious vibe, it's the kind of place where you can settle in for hours, whether you're meeting a friend or getting work done.”

As a gluten free person, do you know the feeling of eating something and being worried you were given the wrong food because it tastes a little TOO good? That’s how I felt eating my bacon egg and cheese biscuit this morning. The flakey, light buttery experience was almost too convincing! My nerves were soothed by the fact that it disintegrated in my hands pretty quickly 😂 oh well, it’s gluten free - what can you expect! I’ve loved Exchange Coffee Co. since they opened. I even had my 14th birthday party here 10 years ago! They always are improving the quality of everything they make from biscuits and scones to cinnamon rolls and crepes I always feel like I have delicious options. (This is my formal request to be able to get more frosting on the side for cinnamon rolls lol). If you are familiar with Tandem Creperie in TR, and you’re underwhelmed by their gluten free crepes, you HAVE to try this place. And to top it all off, the staff here is wonderful! I notice how careful everyone is to keep things from being cross contaminated (within reasonable standards), and they are so sweet and helpful! Also, shoutout to Abby for being a sweet familiar face and remembering my name. 🙂↕️
Daryl’s chorizo bowl is a 10/10. Their vanilla latte is delish. Not too milky and still tastes like a coffee. Even just a drip coffee black coffee is great. Atmosphere is cozy, and the baristas are very friendly.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exchange Co Coffee & Bakery in Simpsonville is such a gem! I absolutely love the biophilic vibe with all of the beautiful plants throughout the shop. The whole place smells amazing, is spacious, and kept very clean. The upstairs is my favorite spot—filled with greenery and plenty of open space to either get some work done or just relax and hang out. Can’t wait to stop back in the next time I’m in the area! Really enjoyed my visit to Exchange Coffee Co.! The atmosphere was cozy with plenty of seating, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. I tried one of their specials – an iced Coca-Cola with espresso and vanilla cold foam. It was really good and super refreshing. A great spot to relax or get some work done. I’ll definitely be back!
This shop is so cute! There is upstairs seating and merchandise. I came in and the batistas were SO friendly and helpful. They were out of biscuits, but let me know they had gluten free alternatives, which sometimes are a little chalky tasting, but was actually really good. Their spicy jelly was so yummy. We ordered one hot and one cold coffee and they accidentally gave us two cold.. they fixed it no problem, they were so nice about it. Also tried the crepe with berries and it was SO good! Not overly sweet, yet flavorful.
