Crema's Take

This Newton gem strikes that perfect balance between a quick caffeine pit stop and a leisurely afternoon hideaway, with a fiercely devoted following who rave about pastries so exceptional they've inspired comparisons to Boston's most hyped establishments. The almond croissants arrive impossibly flaky with roasted nuttiness, the chocolate chip cookies are legendary, and the knowledgeable team genuinely cares about your experience, making it the kind of place where limited seating becomes a feature, not a bug. Whether you're grabbing a traditional cappuccino on a Sunday morning or settling in with friends over specialty drinks and butter-laminated perfection, SALT feels like discovering something precious that wasn't meant to be found.

SALT Patisserie in Newtown is a hidden gem. Their pastries are beautiful and delicious. I tried an almond croissant, and I fell in love after my first bite. It’s very flaky with a roasted almond aroma. Definitely worth getting a box of a variety to enjoy!

Ridiculously good pastry and beverages!!! I hesitate to give it such a good review because I fear it will become TOO popular and there is limited seating - but I have to be truthful. Everything I try there is delicious and often still warm because it's so fresh: croissants, muffins, quiche, cookies, hot chocolate, and on and on. The staff there is personable and professional too.

A quick Sunday morning stop at Salt Patisserie. Great selection of baked goods at the hour, short line, and not much of a wait. 5 stars to the team — super knowledgeable, attentive, and happy to walk you through the options. Loved the experience! Thank you! The coffee cruller was delicious. There’s seating both inside and outside; parking was easy, and free on Sundays. Cheers!

Fabulous pastries and highly recommend. This pastry shop has great quality of croissants. You don’t need to go to overhyped shops in Boston. On a Sunday morning before church I ordered a plain croissant and a raspberry crème croissant and they were both great. The raspberry creme used a fresh good quality raspberry puree and diplomat crème with real vanilla beans I can see the specs from the pods. The crust was crispy and flakey. So good I was just in silence. I also ordered a small cold brew and ate outside. Highly recommend for quality pastry. I will be back
