Bean About Town Honolulu

Crema's Take
“Bean About Town stands out for its espresso-forward approach and impeccable coffee quality that avoids the common pitfalls of sourness or bitterness that plague many cafes, with regulars praising how their drinks taste genuinely fresh whether you prefer mild or bold. Beyond the excellent cortados and carefully crafted specialty drinks, the cafe earns devotion for its thoughtful touches like French canelés and genuinely fresh pastries, paired with a warm staff and design that makes it feel like a genuine neighborhood gathering spot rather than just another coffee shop. It's the kind of place where locals become daily regulars and visitors from around Oahu travel slightly out of their way, drawn by the combination of serious coffee craft and genuine hospitality.”

The coffee here is very good. Not sour, bitter or musty tasting. It tastes very fresh and mild or strong if you like strong coffee. They do have a dark roast. The pastries are not dry and very tasty. Especially the Canele. The staff is very friendly and efficient. It’s a little walk up place and they have a little sitting area outside. A gem in Kaimuki one must try.
This cafe is fantastic and has all the essentials. Their cortado was tops and their service was fantastic. They also had a French style Canele pastry, which you don't often see. Also love their connection to the local community; They are performing at the top of their craft and would be on normal rotation for me if I lived locally.
This is my favorite coffee shop in Honolulu. I go here every day, I’m here in town. The design is spectacular. The drinks are great. The people are so nice. It's just a lovely place to sit and enjoy Honolulu.
Honolulu has some famous cafes around, and I tried many of them. While many of them were pretty good, this was where I had my best coffee in all of Oahu. It's located a little out of popular zone but it makes the place all the better. It's where mostly locals come to get their coffee. Small but charming, their designs and interiors are very nice. But of course what matters the most is the coffee. I really loved their house blend, and latte was best in town as well. We came back again to get coffee here again on our last day on the island. If you know your coffee and serious about it, I'd definitely recommend you to pay a visit here. Oh and the employees here were super kind as well. All my love to them.
What a great little cafe (when they’re not busy). The seating is small and you’re not really sheltered from the noisy Waialae road, but if you have the place to yourself it’s a really good place to enjoy their quality coffee drinks and pastries. I’m happy they’re my closest cafe but I wish I could hangout longer somehow. Did you know they roast their coffee in-house? Recommend 🤙🏼
