Crema's Take

This espresso-focused roastery in downtown Spokane has earned a devoted following for its exceptional coffee quality and thoughtfully curated atmosphere—regulars rave about returning multiple times per visit and travelers making it a summer pilgrimage stop. While the coffee and baked goods consistently impress, it's the combination of cozy fireplace seating, genuinely friendly staff, and reliable wifi that makes Ladder an ideal spot to linger for work or conversation, though adventurous palates might want to stick with their core espresso offerings rather than seasonal variations. The full breakfast menu and pastries round out an experience that feels less like a quick caffeine stop and more like a genuinely welcoming third place.

My wife and I live in Houston, but we visit Spokane every summer and always stop by Ladder at least twice on our trip. We love the atmosphere, the staff, and everything on the menu! We love it so much we even took some of our engagement photos here!

The coffee was really the best part, it was expensive, but I understood once i tasted the coffee. However, the food was a major mistep. I had the avacado toast, it had no functionality just everything slopped on top, the chili powded was sprinkled on top of the egg so everything under had no flavor, including the pickled onions. The greans were way to stemmy and sloppy wet. It was 17 for the toast including the egg, very overpriced considering the coffee is the premium thing being sold here, not their food. The waffle was also around 7 dollars and it is the size of your palm, nd it comes with one waffle. It was also a slap in the face to have to do your own dishes when the lowest recomendation for a tip is 7%?? As somebody who has done nothing but service work I would never expect that from a customer who had to do even a little work themselves, on top of the price you pay for the products.

Great place to get some work done. The service was very friendly, and the quality of the food and coffee exceeded expectations. They even had comfortable furniture near a warm fireplace. Checks all the boxes!

Cozy place for brunch. Coffee was good but any seasonal or flavored coffee options fell short for me. Food was fantastic!

It was my first time visiting Ladder. I love the atmosphere. It's cute, cozy, and a chill place to grab coffee. We got a scone and their breakfast sandwich. The scone was flavorful and was "moist" for a scone. It was pretty good. The breakfast sandwich didn't have a ton of flavor, I mostly could taste the fried egg, but was decent. I ordered the white chocolate lavender latte. I truthfully couldn't taste much of either flavor, but it was a good latte. My husband had the hazelnut latte and said his was really good. Overall it was a good experience and we'll be back.
