Crema's Take
“Tucked down a quiet alley off the bustling Duval Street strip, Cuban Coffee Queen serves up an authentic taste of Key West's coffee culture with their signature cortaditos and creative cold brews that feature the delightful touch of coffee ice cubes instead of regular ones. Beyond the excellent espresso drinks, their Cuban sandwiches are genuinely legendary—reviewers return daily just for them—and the full breakfast menu pairs perfectly with morning coffee in either their cozy indoor space or breezy outdoor seating. This is a must visit spot in Key West! They offer fantastic breakfast options and excellent coffee. The unique touch of dipping ice in coffee adds a delightful flavor to every drink. The Shipwreck sandwich is truly one of the best tasting sandwiches available. With the warm weather in the Keys, their freshly made smoothies are a refreshing treat.
A few of us took a break from walking along Duval to get a couple of beverages, one hot mocha latte and one cold iced coffee. Both were good. The shop is located down a small alley, away from Duval, which makes it a great spot for relaxing. The service was friendly and efficient. Next to the coffee shop is their roasting operation. They have a large roaster on display, and you can buy bags of their most popular beans. There’s also plenty of merchandise available if you’re looking for something for yourself or a gift. Definitely a place I’d return to, especially to explore more of their coffee and freshly roasted beans.
Cuban Coffee Queen hits the spot any time of day, but the early morning hours are especially enjoyable. Downtown or the waterfront location. The service is always pleasant, and a hot cup of their Cuban coffee. Colada is always my go-to. Add in the famous Key West chickens roaming around, and it’s the perfect start to the morning.
This place has the best tasting Cuban Sandwich I have ever eaten. It is so good that every time I come to Key West I eat at least 1 a day. This location. The coffee is good as well but the sandwich is stuffed with meat, the condiments are the perfect amount, the bread fresh and good. I cannot express how much I enjoy this sandwich. Beyond the best tasting cuban sandwich, The Cuban Queen Mix, and the good tasting Cuban coffee is that the location is just a really cool vibe. Nestled away down a walking alley of Key Lime Square you really get a sense that this gem is a hidden secret that only the lucky or the knowledgeable are privy too. If you're reading this, consider yourself among the initiated. With their open air seating, shade from both the trees and the architecture, and the short but meaning distance from the main street this little jewel is a cool and calm oasis in the sun drenched hustle and bustle that is Old Town. I cannot recommend this Cuban Coffee Queen location any higher.
Loved my very first experience with this coffee brand! The iced coffee I got was such a reward after walking in the heat. The bonus was the coffee ice cubes! Nice touch. I added caramel flavor and had them put in one less pump than they do typically. I like it less sweet. Great interaction and help by the server with my order.
