Garden State Market

3 Brewster Rd, Newark, NJ

★★★★★2.7(27 Google reviews)

Crema's Take

Garden State Market is a convenient Newark spot that bridges the gap between airport food court and actual quality, offering surprisingly well-executed empanadas and sandwiches despite premium pricing that catches most customers off guard. While the operation could use some polish around the edges—receipts go missing and service can feel unwelcoming—the freshness and care in their grilled chicken sandwich and pastries suggest they're genuinely trying to do better than the typical grab-and-go. It's worth a visit if you're in the area and craving something with real flavor, just come in with realistic expectations about both the price tag and the occasional service hiccup.

The ham and cheese empanada I got was expensive, but it was good.

It's food in an airport. You get a few things: it's too expensive and it's slightly better quality than I expected. I got 2 of the egg and bacon empanadas and they were like $8 each and weren't clearly listed as an option anywhere other than a piece of laminated paper stuck to the wall behind the counter with a picture of an empanda. The empanadas were better than I expected, but with airport food the bar is low.

The place is OK, but it does not print any receipts and asks to send it to you phone or email. It's the second time I did not receive my receipt after providing my phone #. I need it to submit my expense so no more purchase from this place.

Best popcorn I ever ate was last night on a late night flight... Coming to America. The freshest thing upon my stay so far. The Chicken Sandwich was grilled to perfection with Mayo and Mustard.

This place need to be managed a little better .You shouldn't tell people if your not a costume you can't get something as simple as a knife or fork. It was not good costume service at all. I have brought things from this place and never thought I would hear them say those words out loud
