Crema's Take

We can't recommend Detroit Donuts based on current reviews, which consistently describe stale pastries, watered-down coffee, and an uninviting atmosphere. Multiple customers report disappointment with the quality of the donuts despite the shop's name being front and center, and the cash-only policy with credit card minimums adds friction to an already frustrating experience. If you're in the area looking for your 9-to-5 coffee fix, you'd be better served exploring other Detroit spots.

Donuts are super old, hot coffees are watered down. I could throw this donut at somebody and it’ll cause damage how stale it was. Very sad that they get to hustle the 9-5ers surrounding the area.

The donuts were hard and old. They can't put donut in the store title with donuts that taste like that. I feel led astray because I expected good donuts! Yikes! I didn't even finish eating the donuts, they were that old and dry. It definitely was not made today, or maybe even yesterday!

It could be the cultural difference or that part of the city is just less personable than I'm used to, but the staff were less than friendly, the environment seemed... Dirty and overall the donut wasn't THAT great to merit a nearly $2 price tag. If you're a chipper person looking for an unhealthy morning snack you'd probably be better served elsewhere.

I work nearby and today I stopped by to get some hot chocolate; it was more like water with a hint of chocolate. If I weren't in a rush I would have definitely returned for a refund. I've also witness them taking pastries from store bought packaging and putting them in their display case.

Solid donut shop with a variety of baked goods, coffee, and snacks. It’s located on the second floor to the left of the escalators. Bring cash if you wanna avoid the $5 minimum for credit card. It’s a dollar per donut and I think $10 for a dozen. The shop itself is really small, but there’s public seating on the ground floor.
