Ceres Bakery

Such a cute little spot to cozy up for breakfast or lunch. The chicken chili was fire and my husband LOVED his breakfast sandwich. Only problem is that now I’m sad I don’t live here and can’t have their croissants all the time.

One of the last old-timer, real local spots in Portsmouth. The food is amazing and affordable, the service is top notch, and the people are just the best. I remember coming here with my mom when I was 7 for cocoa hearts. I know change happens, but words cannot describe how happy it makes me that Ceres is still here all these decades later - cocoa hearts and all - when so much of the city seems just for tourists now.

Ya gotta love people who feed ya! Especially when they serve up such wonderful food with such good care. Love these folks. No matter when I've been there, no matter HOW slammed they were, I felt valued and seen. That means a lot! My go-to is always the turkey stuffing cranberry sandwich. So scrumptious!! Love this place. Will be a loyal customer for many years to come! 💜💜💜

Super cute cafe/bakery tucked in around the corner from the main square. Their coffee was perfect and the hermit (little spice cookie bar) was to die for. Would certainly recommend!

This place was the BEST little cafe! We were so lucky to stumble across it. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was so fun and the prices were great. It felt like I was in Europe. The workers were friendly and nice. We got the egg sandwiches, which were perfect for breakfast and delicious. We got a blackberry cardamon muffin and a raspberry rhubarb tart to go. We took them out to the water to enjoy 😁 I would HIGHLY recommend Ceres Bakery and we will definitely go back next time we are in the area!
