Crema's Take

Tucked away in South Eugene, this neighborhood gem has built a loyal following with genuinely fresh, made-to-order food that rivals their thoughtfully pulled espresso—think excellent soups and sandwiches alongside pastries that justify a repeat visit. It's the kind of place where the coffee actually tastes like coffee, the service feels genuinely warm, and you can comfortably settle in with your laptop or meet a friend without feeling rushed, making it a rare find that delivers on both the cafe and community front.

I absolutely love this café! Such a hidden gym in the South Hills. Reasonable prices, amazingly fresh made to order food, good coffee, nice seating options.... such a great spot to grab a filling bite (I love that they do more than just pastries), and sit and read my book. The pizza options in the adjoining space are also pretty good, but it's additional seating as well if the cafe is busy.

A wonderful neighborhood cafe in South Eugene with excellent and flavorful food and always friendly, great service! I love their soups, sandwiches, and baked goods. I visit routinely, as I work within walking distance and everything I have tried, I have enjoyed. The owners are kind, hard-working people and I love what they are doing!

I am on a mission to try every coffee shop and coffee stand in town, and today I visited Seize the Cafe and I will DEFINITELY be back. They have a variety of food options, from doughnuts to pastry to quiche and there's also the attached Pizza shop next door (though the pizza side was closed today so no comment on that). I got a 16oz pistachio rose oatmilk latte which was surprisingly delicious! I'm not usually a pistachio fan but I am glad I have it a try because it was a wonderful treat. I also got a Cardamom swirl pastry which was hard not to wolf down it was so yummy. Atmos was wonderful and welcoming on this rainy spring morning. I'll definitely be back once I make my Coffee shop passport to get it stamped. Though that's not the only reason. 10/10 recommend visiting Seize the Cafe!

So I was in town looking for a local place to eat and do some schoolwork, I found this little gem and was excited I did , i initially just wanted some coffee but after hearing the dinner menu I was intrigued. I ordered the potato and onion soup with homemade sourdough bread, lamb chop with Brussels sprouts and potatoes and an apple hazelnut bunt cake. First off the staff was amazing, I truly enjoyed my conversation with them and enjoyed they seemed genuinely interested in learning about me also. The potato and onion soup was amazing, I truly appreciate the starchy texture with the perfect balance of onion. The sourdough was good i loved the depth and bounce of the bread but would have preferred it a little warm. The lamb was delicious and seasoned well , the texture was enjoyable with the meat melting as i ate it , not very gamey which was very nice, the portions of potatoes and Brussels sprouts could have been better, the sprouts were a bit overcooked giving them a bitter flavor. The Apple Hazelnut bunt cake I had for dessert was not pleasant. The cake seemed old , it was very dry , lacking structural depth because it just crumbled. The flavor of fridge was very slight indicating to me it probably wasn’t that fresh . Even with the lack of certain aspects of flavors or portion sizes I would definitely recommend trying this establishment.

I like this place. Been here twice now. People my age hang out here. Cool. Cup of coffee, tastes like coffee. Not to be cynical, but, that can be harder to do than any regular Eugene Coffee Drinker might think. Then again, maybe you understand this problem in the Land of Coffee Drinker. The working persons here are polite and most capable. Professional and personable. Food is served here. I had a mediocre donut. So be it. I do look forward to eating something more substantial next time I am here.
