AWAKE Cafe Detroit

Crema's Take
“This espresso-focused Detroit gem has earned serious love for its genuinely warm vibe and consistently excellent coffee, whether you're ordering a traditional macchiato or one of their creative specials. It's the rare café that nails both the craft (drinks made with real precision) and the feeling—reviewers keep coming back for the mellow atmosphere, friendly staff, and that perfect balance of being productive-friendly without feeling sterile. Stop by for a thoughtfully made coffee and a light breakfast, and you might find yourself at the bar table for hours, just like everyone else seems to.”

Delicious spot to stop for a quick bite and some coffee. Enjoyed the warm and inviting atmosphere and friendly staff. Everything was tasty and did not disappoint, I had the March special breakfast sandwich which was egg, cheese, your choice of bacon or turkey sausage with raspberry jam and my husband had the baked oats topped with yogurt and fresh berries. The food choices were so good that we ended up getting some of their baked goods to take home with us. If you’re looking for a cute neighborhood spot for some coffee and a meal, with a bonus “little free library” look no further than AWAKE cafe!
Love the vibe. Enjoyed my traditional Macchiato with chocolate (what’s the difference with mocha lol). The staff was super nice, sat at the bar table and enjoyed doing work with mellow music in bg. Definitely recommend!
This is my first time being here. God brought me here because I need to read my Bible and hear worship songs and meet Faith Filled Friends and sure enough I found it all here. Thank you Friends for this Lovely place. They are such a wonder ful people here.
I loved stopping in here for coffee with my friend. I’ve had it on my list for a while and now I definitely will be going back. The coffee was great, service was friendly and I really liked the handwritten motivational messages on cups. The breakfast sandwiches we ordered were also good and warm. I already recommended the cafe to my friends who are looking to support genuine small businesses in Detroit. Please do the same! You will not be disappointed.
✨Google Guide Review✨ This is one of my go-to places to be able to get work done for business while in a quiet, ducked off space. The food is reasonably priced and drinks are made perfectly especially drinks with oat milk or almond milk. I purchased the Turkey Sausage Ford Wrap with an Iced Caramel Latte with Oat Milk. The wrap wasn’t too bad. I love spicy food so a little kick with the pico wouldn’t hurt. The Iced beverage was amazing and the quote that was put on the sleeve was very timely, “Protect you peace”. This is a peaceful place to eat, work, and enjoy great food and ambiance. 🙏🏾
