Crema's Take

Alba is a low-key Detroit gem where the espresso program shines and the legendary egg sandwich lives up to its hype—reviewers keep mentioning it as genuinely life-changing. The staff radiates genuine warmth, the pastries and light breakfast offerings are thoughtfully executed (including a standout Mexican hot chocolate), and the high-ceilinged space strikes that perfect balance of being cozy enough to linger for hours yet airy enough to feel special. It's the kind of place where you'll happily work or write without Wi-Fi, settling into conversations with locals who clearly treat it like their second home.

Holy cow I wish I lived in Detroit so I could come here daily (and had more disposable income to do so!). The egg sandie IS the best egg sandwich I have ever had, the other reviews don’t lie, and worth the $9 to experience it at least once. The Americano was flavorful even after it got cold (I took it to go) later, which speaks to the quality of the beans and barista). The staff were understanding of my complete exhaustion when trying to order while adjusting to time zone changes and DST, and super kind and welcoming. Super cute space too, I would love to just sit here with a good book or a friend for hours.

I was in the area and happened to stumble upon this low key spot. The staff was super friendly. I had the Mexican hot chocolate ☕️ and the burrito 🌯 both was great. I ended up hanging out for a while. Cool vibe would recommend and will definitely go again.

One of the coolest cafes in Detroit. The coffee is top notch, the bakes are nice. The people behind the counter are also very lovely.

Cute little coffee shop with plenty of seating. Grabbed a latte and a matcha to try. Coffee had good flavour (had a bit more citrus taste to it) but the matcha wasn't as good as I expected (although I am a bit more picky with my matcha). Other than that, the experience was great and they close a bit later than the usual coffee shops I go to which is great. Service was quick too so I was in and out right away. Not a bad spot to check out if you're ever around the area.

Cool café in the city with a great vibe — perfect for working, writing, or reading. Laptops are welcome, though there’s no Wi-Fi available. The space is clean, organized, and cozy, with high ceilings and great lighting that makes it even more pleasant. It has a vibrant, lively atmosphere — full of energy and vitality — truly motivating and uplifting. The staff is incredibly attentive and helpful, adding to the welcoming feel of the place. I would come back!
