Crema's Take

Sabbath Coffee Roasters is a cozy Detroit gem where the staff's genuine warmth and unhurried hospitality make every visit feel like catching up with friends—regulars rave about returning again and again, and even coffee newcomers find themselves converted. The small, inviting space pairs thoughtfully roasted beans with excellent pastries and sandwiches, creating the kind of morning destination where you actually want to linger before work rather than dash out with your cup.

I don't often write reviews for places; if I like it, I return with friends in tow, and if I don't, I don't. Sabbath's customer service has exceeded any expectation I could have had. I recently ordered their variety sampler pack pre-ground. The bags I received were all whole bean, which wasn't a big deal, but I was also short a bag. I called to let them know what happened and they kindly remedied the issue. Not only did they immediately ship my missing bag, but with it they included the entire variety pack pre-ground the way it was originally ordered. Both the coffee and the customer service are incredible.

One of my favorite places to come in the morning with my partner before work for a latte with a scone, oats or a sandwhich. Employees are chill as well. I didnt really drink coffee ever until I started getting some from my workplace and then Sabbath and now I gotta have some all the time now 🤣☕️. I will miss the chocolate orange latte but am excited for whatever new special drinks they bring for the coming month.

First visit to Sabbath and WOW it’s so good! Ordered an Americano and White Peppermint mocha plus a chocolate chip scone! Can’t wait to try the beans at home too! We will be back again soon.

Sabbath Coffee & Roasters is such a gem in Clawson! I stopped in on a Friday morning around 9am and had a fantastic experience. The shop itself is small and cozy inside, with plenty of outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. Even though the space is tight, it never felt overwhelmingly loud. The decor has fun millennial vibes with thoughtful seasonal touches, and everything inside was spotless. (The outdoor tables were a little dusty, but honestly that’s just the nature of outdoor seating!) The staff here are wonderful — smiling, kind, patient while taking orders, and quick to get drinks out. I tried two drinks: my usual iced caramel latte and their seasonal Goober Latte. Both were excellent! The caramel latte had the perfect balance of sweetness and espresso. The Goober was a creative seasonal special — the peanut butter flavor came through beautifully, and the cold foam was thick and delicious (though I didn’t pick up much of the berry flavor). Drinks are one standard size, but it’s just right — satisfying without being too much. Presentation was gorgeous, and you can really taste the freshness of their house-roasted beans. I also love that they accommodate different diets with vegetarian/pescatarian-friendly menu options and several milk alternatives. A couple of extra details worth mentioning: they have a walk-up window outside, which is perfect if you’re bringing your dog, and the outdoor seating could easily accommodate families or larger groups. Parking is limited right in front, but there’s plenty available just down the street and behind the building (all free!). Overall, Sabbath is warm, welcoming, and clearly a place that puts care into every detail. I’ll absolutely be back!

Cool spot, great atmosphere! I really liked the guy who took our order, made me feel very welcome and told me “no rush” when I couldn’t decide on a drink, even though there were people behind me in line! The outdoor seating was cool. I wish they had more food options but the pastries seemed legit. Coffee was both fancy and tasty.
