Crema's Take

Nestled in Blue Ridge, BumbleBee's Cafe is a beloved breakfast and brunch spot where locals and visitors linger over generously portioned omelets, pancakes, and Philly cheese steaks in a charming, family-friendly setting. The kitchen takes pride in quality ingredients and cooking from scratch, though patience is part of the experience—good food genuinely takes time here. It's the kind of place where friendly staff and genuine hospitality make it feel like a community gathering spot, perfect for unhurried mornings with friends and family.

Don't come here for the biscuits. I love going to small town breakfast places to sample the biscuits. I asked how big they were and was told they are Pillsbury--as in canned or frozen biscuits, not made fresh. We ordered the eggs plates instead, not wanting mass produced biscuits you can get from the grocery store. The bacon was think and flavorful. The potatoes were good as well. The pancakes and eggs were okay, but nothing to brag about. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Overall decent food, but not what you would hope for from a local small town place.

Amazing food, not so amazing wait, but good food takes time! Me my husband and some friends went for brunch, first off the food was amazing! I got a Philly cheese steak, cooked perfectly, great flavor, good portion size. My husband got their Philly omelet and his only regret was that he didn't have more. 10/10 taste. This is a locally owned breakfast café, they don't have many employees, the wait goes with good food, everything is cooked to order. If you have extra time stop by, however if you go go go, I would skip for something a bit quicker! Everything is priced very reasonable, nothing is much more than $15, I would expect about $13 per person. Cute atmosphere, nothing too spectacular, but very cute and inviting!

We were referred here after Serenity Café stopped serving brunch at 11:30 AM. Arrived at 1:05 PM, seated quickly, and ordered two entrées: pancakes with home fries, and a ham & cheese omelette with a pancake and home fries . ⏱️ Food arrived ~30 minutes later. The omelette was incorrect—undercooked and made with cheddar instead of American cheese as requested. It had to be remade, adding more delay. ☕ Service was minimal. We had to ask for coffee refills during our visit 🧼 The facility is clean and well-kept, but overall, the experience didn’t meet expectations. Sadly, it’s doubtful we be returning. Every time we come down for Blue Ridge BBQ & Blues, we always hit the Bee for breakfast. Delicious food, healthy portions, & friendly staff. Got the veggie omelet, a side of sausages, & a monstrous pancake. Everything was cooked to perfection, & i barely finished it all! If it hadn't been for toddler screaming the entire time, would've been perfect! (I know, I know - babies cry!)

We came here for a late breakfast and we were not disappointed. The food was fresh, came out quickly and so good. The decor and ambiance of this restaurant is what you would hope to see in a nice Blue Ridge town. We were visiting from Florida and our waitress took time to tell us of some local spots to check while we were here.
