Vicente's Bread Kitchen & Café
343 Kearny Ave, Kearny, NJ
Crema's Take
“Vicente's Bread Kitchen & Café captures that nostalgic diner charm with its spacious, vintage-retro vibe—a genuine neighborhood spot where families and friends actually linger over meals rather than rush through. While service can be inconsistent and quality varies, it's the kind of casual, affordable place that's earned its stripes as a local gathering spot, especially for those hunting down every café experience across New Jersey's towns.”

DO NOT RECOMMEND The food was utterly disgusting. They got majority of my order wrong. The tres leches cake was stale and nasty. I threw up after tasting it. My crepe was drowned in strawberries, even though I requested the Nutella and banana. The strawberry banana smoothie was JUST banana. I am NEVER ordering from here again.
Came in for a coffee and waited over 25 minutes while we were ignored completely. Were told give us 1 minute for over 10 minutes and decided to leave. The lady that seemed to be the manager or owner was taking pictures if menus and custar rather then attend us . We were less than 5 ft away from her the entire time. Very unprofessional won't be coming back . DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
Comfortable family friendly brunch cafe/restaurant in Kearny. Really large space to dine with friends or family! Vintage and retro vibes ✨✨ There were a couple issues with the wait time and orders. I ordered a mango smoothie expecting mangos but it tasted like orange with orange pulp! It was also about 7oz for 6-7$….what a shame 😣 I ordered a small egg dish with a cute salad on the side. For the price, it was great! I ordered an empanada, it wasnt a wow! factor but it was decent. The food came out really slow even though there were 4-5 servers and less than 10 customers. Maybe that’s just my dilemma though 😛
My wife and I are on the #eatjersey challenge to visit and have a meal in all 564 towns of NJ. We chose Vicente's Bread Kitchen & Cafe for Kearny, our 147th town. The cafe is fast casual where you order at the counter, then the food is brought out to your table. We visited with family and sampled a variety of breakfast dishes including: The Portuguese Ham & Cheese Sandwich, Veggie Breakfast Platter, Bacon & Eggs Platter, Cranberry Muffin, Bola de Berlim (creme donut), and of course... it wouldn't be a visit to a Portuguese cafe without trying their Pastel De Nata! Everything was great. If you're in town, definitely stop by!
JUNE/2022 Decent restaurant, relatively clean, could be better. Prices are relatively cheap, not too expensive. This is a cheap restaurant, so do not expect anything fancy or extremely clean. Food was really good though, it may take them 15 min to serve you due to the amount of customers. Solid 4/5
