Crema's Take
“Blanchard's feels like stepping into a charming, retro schoolhouse where coffee is taken seriously but the atmosphere stays relaxed and welcoming. Their espresso-focused menu keeps things simple and refined, with thoughtful pour overs and traditional drinks that draw both serious coffee lovers and families looking for a genuine place to linger. The Morris Street location has earned a loyal following for its unhurried vibe and staff that genuinely celebrates customers—they're the kind of place that remembers anniversaries and makes every visit feel special.”

Bill was 3.62. I gave 4.00 cash and the cashier said “we don’t accept cash.” Thinking it was because she didn’t have change, I said Well, I wasn’t planning on having change, I want you to have it.” She sighed and said “We’ll just cover it..” Why doesn’t this place of business accept legal tender? Espresso lacked depth of other beans I’ve had from other vendors, but comes with a small glass of sparkling water. Nice touch, but accept Cash
I discovered Blanchard’s Coffee years ago when I was living in Richmond and on the hunt for truly good coffee beans. What started as a search quickly turned into a lifelong love. Their beans are consistently superb—beautifully roasted, rich, and deeply satisfying. You can taste the care in every cup. I also adore the attention to detail in their packaging: the little stories, the thoughtfulness, the sense that real people are behind every roast. This December, our subscription (we order the 5 lb bags) included a small surprise Christmas blend, which felt like such a generous, joyful touch. I haven’t even opened it yet because I’m completely devoted to Dark as Dark and Midnight Oil—they’re absolute staples in our house. Blanchard’s coffee fuels our days in every form imaginable: espresso, cold brew, French press, pour-over (especially while camping). I even bake with it—nothing elevates a chocolate cake quite like their coffee. I’m so grateful to support this local business, and it makes me genuinely happy to see Blanchard’s beans now available in stores here in Lynchburg. Exceptional coffee, thoughtful craftsmanship, and years of consistency—thank you, Blanchard’s, for doing what you do so well. ☕✨
This place was amazing. The staff was so accommodating. It was my husband’s and mine 32 anniversary and they wrote happy anniversary on a tray and gave us the most delicious’s coffee with a discount. Grateful for this place and the atmosphere the coffee is delicious.
So charming, almost has a retro schoolhouse feel. Blanchards isn’t my favorite coffee in the area but it’s still good. I don’t think any location can be as busy as their broad st one, so I feel like this is a good one with more of a neighborhood feel.
Blanchard's is about the vibe. Inside a retro-looking building, it photographs beautifully. Their coffee menu is simple, but good. I enjoyed the hazelnut latte and my wife liked their chai latte. They often have seasonal drinks on the menu.
