Marimbas Guatemalan Bakery & Restaurant

Crema's Take
“Marimbas is a warmly authentic Guatemalan gathering spot where housemade pastries and comforting traditional dishes like churrasquito and enchiladas chapina feel like someone's home cooking elevated to art. The generous portions and accessible prices make it perfect for lingering over cafe de olla with friends or family, in a soul-filled atmosphere that locals return to again and again.”

Absolutely delicious and now on my short list of best restaurants in Austin. We ordered several dishes to share and every single one was a hit. Hard to pick favorites. Standouts: • Churrasquito con Longaniza • Pepián de la Abuela • Tostadas Trio • Chuchitos (these alone are worth a trip) Special shout-out to the tortillas, which were phenomenal. We also all ordered the Café de Olla and it was excellent. Honestly can’t think of a single negative, except that I got too excited and only remembered to take one picture. Big thanks to the manager, Ronaldo, for the great recommendations. A true Austin gem.
From a Guatemalan, let me tell you this food reminded me of my mom’s cooking. The presentation of the food is top notch and delicious. Make no mistake, the prices are accessible to anyone wanting the Guatemalan food experience! I highly recommend you come it!!!
I had the cafe de olla, chuchitos and the enchiladas chapina. Everything was amazing. I saw a lot people getting some bread and coffee and they just sat down to chat with local people. It is very inviting environment, very good coffee and food.
Atmosphere so warm sweet inviting welcoming and full of soul 💕💕 Food AMAZING!!! SO delicious and big portions. I always order small plates and end up with so many left overs because the small plates are big :) Service great!! Everyone is welcoming warm and kind! Love this place and always look forward to coming again 🥰
What a treat! The food tastes as good as it looks, and it's great to dine with a group where everyone can sample and share. My sister and I were very full sharing 4 items from the a la carte menu. And then I had to go home with an assortment of their baked goods.
