Midnight Mug

3700 O St NW, Washington, DC

★★★★4.4(30 Google reviews)

Crema's Take

Tucked on the second floor of a university library, Midnight Mug serves up honest coffee at refreshingly low prices in a space that thrives as both a quick-grab spot and a serious study haven. The recent switch to a better coffee vendor has genuinely improved the quality, and the welcoming vibe—extended hours during study nights and a genuinely friendly atmosphere—makes it a beloved Georgetown go-to for students and visitors alike.

Anyone can grab a coffee here! Visitors will need to sign in at the front, but it's nbd. Coffee is on the 2nd floor - to the rear of the library. prices are really cheap!! I paid like $5 for a latte, which is great compared to nearby cafes. they do Coffee, Tea, Espresso, and other snacks and beverages.

First off, the name is very misleading. This so-called “midnight mug" is not open midnight. It's only open until 6pm. And the coffee came in a cup- not a mug. When I ordered a toasted bagel, they gave me a bagel, that was not sliced in half, and i had to toast it (with the inefficient toaster) and saw it in half (with the awful plastic knife). You also have to put the cream cheese on yourself. When you order a latte, they put way too much milk in it. The bagel was very mediocre. They were quick though and you can pay with FLEX dollars.

Over the past two years, they changed the vendor for their coffee, so it tastes actually decent now instead of like crap, which is what it used to taste like. It's also open late on study nights which is convenient for library patrons, but of course, that means they can charge expensive cafe prices.
