Crema's Take

Marlena is a charming outdoor-focused spot in Long Beach where warm, down-to-earth service pairs beautifully with creative dishes like their melt-in-your-mouth baby sweet potato starter and thoughtfully crafted specialty drinks. The cozy, Instagram-worthy atmosphere makes it equally perfect for a girls' night out or a relaxed family breakfast, though come prepared for intimate street parking and an entirely open-air experience that captures the best of Southern California dining.

We loved our experience at Marlena's. The staff was outstanding. Friendly, helpful, down to earth. The food was excellent. We had the baby sweet potato starter that melts in your mouth. The Tagliatelle Ragu was rich with a hint of spice & perfectly cooked pasta, and the Sea Bass that was flakey buttery goodness. They do not have an extensive wine list, but the wines they carry are thoughtfully chosen and pair beautifully with their dining options. Overall we were very happy with our evening and will definitely be back

Friend suggested this place for a girls night dinner after seeing videos on Instagram. Nice Location but it is all Outdoors. Parking is small so we had to park on street. Vibe and decor is cute. Our waitress was helpful . I wasn't totally blown away on the food for the pricing but it was ok. Would I come here again ? Probably not. Was it nice for a girls night out ? Sure.

Lovely restaurant, friendly staff. Pizzas were good. Couldn't recommend the Beef Tartare, not made how I am used to. Not bad, just different. We also had a salad which was OK but nothing special. Would go back, but would only have pizza.

I’ve heard many good things about this restaurant and I decided to visit. Ambience and service are good, but that’s as far as it goes. The margaritas were mediocre, definitely not spicy enough. The salad bitter, the prime ribeye was just ok, but I really enjoyed the Bianca bread. I would give it another chance for some pizza and wine though.

Wow wow wow. THIS place deserves all the attention & praise! I would dare to say it’s in the top 10 restaurants I’ve been to. From the moment we walked in, we loved the vibe, so cozy, warm, and family style. They have a wood fired oven where you can watch them make the pizzas. Service was outstanding, we were always attended to. I LOVE that they locally source all of their foods, everything was so delicious and fresh and someone even noted how happy he was that he ate so much food but didn’t feel bloated or gross. They also have a seasonal menu which is so fun! Our favorite dish was the yams with pistachios and favorite pizza was the spicy salami. The fig salad was amazing as well. We also got the cauliflower, prosciutto pizza, mushroom pizza, sage pasta, and radicchio salad. Dessert was the apple cake with caramel ice cream. Highly recommend and counting down the days until I can go back here!
