Crema's Take
“This beloved Portuguese gem in Newark has earned its loyal following with freshly made sandwiches that punch well above their price point and an authentically decorated space that feels like stepping into Lisbon for an afternoon. The real magic is in the unhurried rhythm—locals return year after year for traditional pastries, warm coffee, and that rare quality of a place that somehow manages to be both genuinely family-friendly and perfect for lingering alone with a book.”

I live nearby and love this quaint portuguese coffee shop. Very authentic decorative spot to hang around in and the sandwhiches/coffee are superb. He has bakery treats, brownie & apple strudel was delicious. Highly recommend!
I’ve been coming here for years, and their $6 sandwiches are truly the best in both freshness and taste. If you haven’t been yet, make it a priority to visit — they’re a local gem with consistently amazing food. Their bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, also just $6, is hands down the best anywhere.
Their sandwiches are just five bucks and made fresh when you order. I’ve been coming here for years, and the quality has always been top-notch. It’s smart to order ahead—they stay busy for a reason. Once you try one of their $5 sandwiches, you’ll be hooked too… and just like me, you’ll become part of the reason they’re always packed!
This is an amazing place. If you prefer to give it 6 stars I would. Not just for one particular service, but for the combination of all of them together. The place is decorated in a simple but very tasteful way. The service is personalized and the host makes you feel like you are paying a visit to his home. The food is excellent, with a simple menu but you can feel that everything has the taste of "homemade". The portions are generous and the prices are unbeatable. I definitely recommend it to everyone who is in the area.
Small cozy place with a good food and coffee. You can find Portuguese tradicional food for you coffee time or snack. I tried the tradicional juice (Compal) it’s delicious. The Tosta Mista which is a bread with cheese and ham taste really good. For dessert I had a Pastel de Nata, don’t miss it!
