A true Austin gem. The Tradition lives up to its name with classic American comfort food done right. Warm, inviting atmosphere, attentive service, and dishes that feel familiar yet thoughtfully elevated. Everything is well-executed, from the starters to the mains, making it a great spot for both locals and visitors looking for a timeless Austin dining experience. Would happily return.
October 2025 Finally got to dine at The Tradition where it was bunch. I ordered coffee and Avocado Toast. The place was very elegant and luxurious with excellent service. The toast was beautifully presented in front of me where had great flavor. It was above the rest and truly enjoyed it.
I stayed at the attached Hyatt Centric and was so grateful for this restaurant in the mornings. The breakfast is delightful and price friendly. The avocado toast is one of the best I've had and the overnight oats were unique and delicious as well. Highly recommend.
Came right after opening for Monday brunch. Was expecting to have an omelette but the smash burger was too tempting to pass up. It was a simple creation that didn’t disappoint. Plentiful crisp fries accompanied the burger. Brooke provided excellent, timely service keeping my ice tea filled.
During my stay at the hotel, I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here. Everything was fantastic. For breakfast I had the benedict and parfait. The benedict was one of the best I’ve had, perfectly cooked eggs, a crisp English muffin and a great balance of egg to meat to muffin. The parfait was also just as well made, a perfect balance of yogurt, berries and granola in each bite. The Japanese dishes really surprised me, I tried the tempura salmon hand roll and the crispy shrimp hand roll and both were cooked incredibly well. The sashimi salad was also fresh and filled with lots of fish, and I just had a half portion too. The steak frites was also cooked exactly how I wanted it and had a great char on the outside. The shrimp and lobster roll was stuffed with plenty of shrimp and lobster, although I did think it was a bit bland. Service was always good and food came out quick.
