Lagniappe Bakehouse
1825 Euterpe St, New Orleans, LA
Crema's Take
“In the heart of New Orleans, this bakehouse is a masterclass in elevated pastry craft—think glossy, show-stopping Vaucroissants and inventive danishes that locals can't stop thinking about long after their visit. The coffee stands confidently alongside the baked goods, making it equally worthy whether you're grabbing a quick caffeine fix or settling in for a slow, lingering breakfast on one of their signature sweet potato buns. What really sets the place apart is the warmth: friendly staff, a line that moves with purpose, and an inviting atmosphere that makes both solo coffee drinkers and groups feel genuinely welcomed.”

I am so glad that I found this place during my visit to New Orleans. Everything I tried was delicious, but the Vaucroissant was outstanding! I also really enjoyed the Grains of Paradis Bun and the Benne Toffee Cookies. The staff was also really great.
Have you ever been able to see your reflection in the beauty of a baked good? Look at that shine! There is absolutely no way I can accurately describe these pastries. You'll just need to get there (EARLY!) and buy and try them yourself. They are so flaky, buttery and full of flavor. They aren't cheap, but do you know how long it takes to make these!? It's wild. You can taste the love in these, just go!! NOW!! GO!!
I came to New Orleans at Halloween looking for something spooky. I didn't expect to be haunted by a pastry... Ever since I had the danish from Lagniappe, I can't stop thinking about it. The perfect, flaky pastry, the rich creamy coconut balanced with the sharp passion fruit... it was true perfection. The flat white was really good, too, but nothing compares to that danish! It's the danish I will forever compare all others to, and they will be found wanting.
I love the new take on classic pastries here. The service was fun and friendly when we visited on Halloween. We had an amazing citrus pastry and breakfast on sweet potato bun that was outstanding. I was a bit disappointed in the corn muffin because would have been better served warm. I am looking forward going here again.
Lagniappe Bakery is warm and inviting, with amazing pastries and really solid coffee. The line moves quickly and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. After you grab your treats, it’s worth a walk through the neighborhood to check out the beautiful old homes and architecture.
