Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters Detroit
1220 Griswold St, Detroit, MI
Crema's Take
“Dessert Oasis has earned its devoted following in downtown Detroit with coffee that clearly punches above the fray, paired with housemade pastries and syrups that elevate the whole experience—their baklava cheesecake and cookie butter varieties are particularly legendary among regulars. The spacious, outlets-everywhere vibe makes it the kind of place where people genuinely want to linger for hours, and the staff seem genuinely passionate about what they're serving. It's the rare specialty coffee shop that's equally known for its excellent espresso and its dessert game, which speaks to how seriously they take both sides of the equation.”

Dessert Oasis has always been and always will be number one. The flavor of their coffee surpasses any cafés out there, new or old. The new cafés may look good and attractive but they lack the true flavor of coffee, their drinks are way too sweet and the coffee tastes like an ashtray. True coffee lovers will agree that Dessert Oasis is authentic and truly original. I like to try new places when I’m out with others but my taste buds always crave the best, the one and only and most delicious coffee from Dessert Oasis.
Friendly service and clean place. Espresso had no body but the taste was not that bad. Baklava cheesecake was good with blanced sweetness and the size was big but it needs a stronger taste and texture of Baklava. If you don't see the piece of baklava garnish on top, you cannot tell. There was no music when I visited and no vibes.
Great place. Large capacity w/ wall outlets for phone charging. Coffee is high quality. Cheesecake is on another plane. Staff appear to recongise the superiority of Amnesiac to In Rainbows.
Amazing coffee in the heart of downtown Detroit. The atmosphere inside is a vibe, just a cool place to sit for hours and get lost in some coffee. I had the honey & cinnamon latte and it was full of flavor and good hint of cinnamon spice. The service was great to match, definitely worth checking out.
Decent ice lattes, warm chocolate croissant- generous size just could’ve had more chocolate inside- and delicious cookie butter cheesecake. House made syrups- I had the caramel iced latte and was a 7/10. My partner had an iced chai latte with oat milk. Wasn’t sweet enough, strong on the cinnamon and a bit too milky. Barista was fast friendly and efficient. Great view of the city .
