Crema's Take

Detroit Sip is a hidden gem that nails the art of creating a space where you actually want to linger—think cool art on the walls, chess boards at the ready, and thoughtfully curated music that never overstays its welcome. Their espresso drinks are aromatic and flavorful, and the pastries (particularly their banana nut muffin) are worth coming back for, all at prices that feel refreshingly fair. It's the kind of place that locals rave about precisely because it transcends the typical coffee shop experience, offering genuine coziness and character alongside genuinely good coffee.

Really enjoyed my time at this coffee shop. The space has a great vibe with cool art, comfortable tables, and even chess boards that make it easy to sit down, relax, and stay awhile. It feels like a true community spot. Tiarra and Cash were awesome baristas. They were friendly, welcoming, and made the experience even better. Great atmosphere, great service, and a place I will definitely come back to.

Good music, whoever is managing the playlist has found that good balance of good music but not too much, ya know. Tried a banana nut muffin which was good, they warmed it and I woukd get it again. Now, the tea tho. This Marygrove Mint Lavender tea. Y'all. 🔥 This junk tastes like I'm walking through a garden of fresh tea leaves like Sen in Spirited Away following Haku. If anyone coming through I recommend try that fr tho

I'm not sure if they serve food but the wine that was chosen for me was superb. The atmosphere was so cozy and inviting.

I was visiting home and this was a spot I had never been to. Waaaay better than the average coffee shop and very reasonably priced! My ONLY “complaint” was that they had merch from other schools- but no Wayne State merch. I would have purchased some if they had. Even though I am WSU alum- it would be cool to see all the city colleges highlighted. Not a meaningful complaint- just an observation. I love this coffee shop and will be back next time I come home.

Detroit sip is a hidden gem in the city of Detroit. The atmosphere of this coffee house is truly a vibe. The coffee was aromatic and flavorful. My banana nut muffin was warm, sweet, and delicious 😋. You can meet with friends here, study, or just sit and read a book while sipping. I purchased a couple of pillows with my high school alma mater M.L. King on them! It was truly an awesome experience, and I will be back!
